Derek, really?

Your argument means that you are against all affirmative action, comparisons of black to white convictions in court, and college admission policies that benefit blacks.

It is fully acceptable to use comparisons if done in the right context.

Roseanne has been saying terrible things for awhile now, that is true. But that was acceptable as long as she was on the left. Just look at her beliefs, she is far from being part of any "right wing".

Also look at Valerie Jarrett. Roseanne Barr said she didn't know she was black, and I believe it. Yes her comments were horrible, yet this woman is whiter than Roseanne. Hell she's whiter than Michael Jackson.

I guarantee you that if she had said the same thing, but never once supported Trump, she would have just gotten a slap on the wrist, and the media would have forgotten it in 15 minutes.

This is what "whataboutism" looks like. That seems to be the central focus of right-wing, conservative analysis, if you can call it that. Anything gets excused that is said by racists on the right, or by Trump, with the reasoning being, "...but what about?..." Rosanne has been saying awful things for some time now. THAT is the current issue. Using "whataboutism" to dismiss it is the reason why we're seeing so many emboldened racists now. It's the reason why the current president is free to be insulting and crude and crass when he refers to other races and ethnicity. That anyone would be so quick to defend Rosanne's sick racist comments by not focusing on her own ignorance, but by bringing up other people, is just disingenuous. The only thing Elder didn't include was an inquiry into Hillary's emails, which I was sure would be mentioned, so I kept reading. Do better...
