1. I agree.

2. Boring design is good if it is useful

I will not buy Samsung anymore (I only had Samsung phones) because of the change in design: non removable battery, glass body, 1:2 aspect ratio, curved screen, much too high price (my last Samsung phone is Note 4)
What upsets me is that almost all phone manufacturers copied Samsung and Apple in this area. One cannot buy a good smartphone with removable battery anymore.
I don't understand this "trend" of "beautiful" body and "premium" materials for phones. Everyone will buy a case to hide the "beautiful" phone so it does not matter how ugly it is. And glass is not premium, it is just common like plastic.

3. The snapdragon chips are supposed to be the best available on the market.
Besides, a power hungry chip will shorten the battery life.

4. The only thing that bothers me is the change in shade in time of the OLED displays. Especially when it is not uniform. The usual led displays do not have this issue.

5. I agree about the bad specs phones.
There should be enough RAM and Flash memory in every phone sold.
I will not buy any phone that sacrifice these.

I also will not buy any phone with litium battery which is not user replaceable no matter how hyped or gorgeous seems to some or if it does not have the latest Android version.

So I will say the following are very bad things:
- non removable battery
- slow Android updates
- small memory capacity (RAM and Flash)
- edge to edge curved display
- glass body
- very high price

This will make me to buy some other brand if I will find one that is not blindly copying Apple and Samsung.

My very specific comment is regarding issue no. 1. I did not take heed of comments from several publications and bloggers so I bought an S8 directly from Samsung. What a blunder. All the major US carriers have updated their Samsung S8's to Oreo 8.0 but my unbranded unlocked S8 is still on Oreo Beta, to date. Not only that, we, the beta users, were led to believe that we would be receiving the official OTA ahead of everyone. Well, it wasn't the case so far. I have been a loyal Samsung customer since S5, but my biggest mistake was that I bought my S8 directly from Samsung. Take heed guys. If you like Samsung devices buy them from the carriers and NOT from Samsung. If you prefer timely OS updates, go with Pixel phones. They're not on par with each other but please consider your priorities before buying directly from Samsung. Just so you know my Pixel 2 is on 8.1 but Samsung is just updating to 8.0. My Pixel 2 will be on Android P in a few months and God knows how long it will be for you guys. Again, my only issue is timely updates.

Look buddy,I don't know where you're getting your information from, but you there are inaccuracies in it.The latest Samsung S9 benchmarked higher and faster than the iPhone X last I checked, recheck the latest benchmark tests and scores and you'll see.Samsung's boring design! How boring has the iPhone design been prior to the X? You should know the answer to that.Updates, you can live with them or without them,as long as the phone runs fast that's what matters to me.Low- budget phones!Buddy, even the Samsung S9 Plus at $840 is considered to be a low-budget phone compared to the iPhone X's ridiculous $999 price, imo.

I think you are mistaken, the a11 bionic did score higher in benchmark tests the s9+ beat it in actual speed laps, opening numerous apps and going back through them again. The iPhone x had to keep reloading the programs due to their low ram. As for the design what more do you want, the bezels the s9 and s9+ have more screen to bezels ratio than the iphone x with the horrendous notch. Plus Apple has been doing the same design forever, in fact the x is the first change of form they ever really did. Samsung did the curved display and step out there comfort zone a lot. Apple stays the same.

No man, just no. I have a Note 8, had a Note 5, had an S5, and, yes, at one point, several iPhones. Since switching, have never looked back, have never been disappointed with Samsung or the pace of the rollouts. Never had the Note 7, so can't comment. And low end phones are just that, so, setting expectations for something they can't be is absurd.
