Mainly where does Eminem (I call him Marshall, cause that’s what his momma named him) fit in as it relates to the all time greats!….first let me say Big & Pac are in a class by themselves I think we can all agree on that for the most part….then there’s the class 1A Tier…guys like you cats have already mentioned, Nas,Ra(kim),Andre’ 3000, LL, Big Daddy Kane,Ice Cube etc. i mean the list is endless and the debate as to who is in the top tier could be debated until judgement day…..Now I’m an older head, so to me these new school cats have more to prove than the cats who’ve “put in their body of work” and made a solid contribution to the rap game….I will say this and I have closely listened to and dissected Marshall’s (lyrics, delivery,word play,metaphors) like a proffesor reading a students term paper. I say all of that to say this…..
if Rap had 12 apostles, I would have to put him at #9,#10, in terms of lyrical content and flow.maybe even higher (but not in the top 5..sorry Em)..in fact I would stand up to the “reverse” racial discrimanation that he faces just cause he’s a white boy….The guy has flow! and Im one of the most militant cats out here, but game recognize game! The guy has spitfire lyrics.
