The understanding is that it doesn&#039;t really matter what party the politicians are from, Democrat or Republican, they all are interested in increasing the control of the government over us ordinary citizens.  The Convention of States project is trying to get identical resolutions passed by 38 (I think that&#039;s the required number) state legislatures calling for a convention to amend the US Constitution for the purpose of reining in an out-of-control federal government.  If they succeed, the federal government will have no possibility of refusing this convention.  12 or 13 state legislatures have already passed the resolution, and it&#039;s before the legislatures of many more.
