Why wouldn't a company like Nintendo run out of units? They are not the manufacturing plants. Each big semicon company would face issues when the season for mass production is here. Even our company has to queue even though we are early because the big boys could have their products manufactured first (due to massive demand). So even though our design blueprints are with the semicon companies, they would put us on hold first while they clear the bigger boys.

So Nintendo is losing a war now? This Zero Sum Game thinking is orthogonal to the market realities. Nintendo is in a position where they cannot make enough product to sell, has virtually no dead stock, and this is equated to doomsaying for a situation where a console launched in *March* was cleaning the clocks of the rest of the market...and do to supply...not *demand* constraints, could not hold on to the top spot for a couple of weeks and it is now "losing"?

A bit hyperbolic I feel. I will be watching this writing (it is interesting and I did not know this site existed. Pretty cool.) to see if it changes over the course of the year. I look forward to reading more :)

Nintendo has always been that way. How can a big company like that run out of units? Guess it's all about supply vs demand.
