I am not making excuses for sorry AA men, I am giving reasons. Some are depressed and broken, others are lazy, some are damaged by bitter, vindictive AA women, some never had fathers as examples. It goes a lot deeper.

As a dad, family and relationship counselor, mediator and life coach, I must say there are a great many uncaring African American dads. But instead of denying the facts, we need to look to history for reasons why this is a problem.

I have seen soooooo many cases of irresponsible African American men and I wrote the article on this site entitled What’s Wrong With African American Men. But also be ready to read the article I wrote entitled What’s Wrong With African American Women as well.

There is an identity problem in our community. We still think we are “black” when black is thee color of our car tires, not our skin. Our people have been indoctrinated, programmed and brainwashed against each other. Recently Andrew Young stated that 93% of “black” crime is committed against “blacks” by “blacks”. Why do you think that is? Programming through slavery, rap, TV, music, movies and video games.

Our people have come to see themselves the way the slave master saw the slaves. I work specifically with programs that deprogram our people from the slavery mindset, yet almost 1 out of 3 African Americans will fight me over their right to smoke weed which kills brain cells, reduces equilibrium and produces addiction to THC, to name a few.

Our people have been pre-programmed on a self-sabotaging, self-destructive path – and too many of our people fight to stay that way.

This is no myth. Black men have been failing MISERABLY in the area of fatherhood. No studies can tell me anything. I see it every day. Most black children live WITHOUT their fathers in the home. This is coming from a black man.

In your sixth paragraph your logic is flawed. You left out 57.6% of black children, 31.2% of Hispanic children, and 20.7% of white children are living absent their biological fathers.
