All residents have access to the pool but, each resident can only have a set number of guest at the pool. That guest number was exceeded by far.

Why did the officers have to report there 2 prior on the same day?

You are assuming that these kids have met some kind of “breaking point”? Children these days do not know anything about stress, it “me, me, me…dont tell ‘me’ what to do”!

Again I must stress we have a responsibility as parents to instill discipline into our children, and from your articles I believe you understand that more than anyone. However, as parents and a community we, ALSO, have the responsibility to stand up for our children. And in doing so, I must again
stress to you the context of the situation.

McKinney is a mostly White community, and the teens who live and go to school there deal with this nonsense daily, as do many of our youth across the nation. There is bound to be eruption when the pressure becomes too much.

This officer, the police chief and his attorney admitted the officer brought the stresses of 2 prior calls with him to the pool party call. The officer understood in hindsight his error in mishandling this situation, therefore, he resigned immediately on his on accord. The police chief described his actions as “indefensible”. And his attorney apologized on his behalf in a press conference yesterday.

They all agreed the officer was out of control and did NOT use professionalism.

FYI this is a pool that is open to the neighborhood and all residents are welcome. Those youth’s parents pay home owner association dues that include usage of the pool.They have identification cards to access the area. Now if one resident choses to have a party, it does not exclude other residents from using the pool during the party.

Also, I agree with this author. Why is it our children’s childhood years are being stripped from them?

The kids were not just enjoying a pool party. Several of them were not invited. Some of them jumped the fence because they could not get in the normal way without an invitation. Several of them did not comply with the directives they were given by the police. I have worked crowd control and around hundred of young black kids. You and I both know the pool party was not just about a rogue cop. Show both sides of the coin.
