MARION Barry was a crackhead, POS, who gave taxpayer money to scumbags like Don Peebles, because Peebles let him smoke crack at parties held at Peebles house. Check the FBI wires and trial testimony.

Peebles and Barry hate black men and hate themselves, that’s why they distance themselves from the black community off whenever they can.

Marion Barry traded on his blackness, he did not own it, he used it. If Marion Barry cared about anybody but himself he wouldn’t have been caught smoking crack, he would have been working for black communities.

The above poster must have forgotten how poorly blacks fared under Barry or how the Districts crime and crack epidemic almost destroyed the Capitol.

Marion Barry was one of the greatest black men I have ever known. He was a courageous fighter for civil rights while laboring under the handicaps of the District not having full political power as a state. I worked on his political campaigns and I socialized with him in Southeast D.C. He stood up to congress and got the funding to create excellent jobs and programs for his constituents. The main thing that I loved about Mr. Barry was the fact that he transcended self hatred so often found in black men and exuded real love for black people. The people felt Barry’s love, and they loved him because of it.
