First,let me be clear about this:I do not have a problem with the writer of this piece or with women in general.However,I do have a problem with this made up malady and how it is creeping into the consciousness of black life.It seems the more mainstream black people become the more downright stupid they become.If the premise behind this oh so important issue is true, then, every black person in America, and, perhaps most black people on the entire planet,should suffer from major psychological issues because they do not and cannot look white.One of the reasons they do not is because,lead by James Brown’s polemic anthem to black pride,Say It Loud I’m Black and I’m Proud,blacks realized they could change simply by choosing to change.So,then for the price of a forty five-no therapy needed- and a willful change of attitude,black America sufficiently shook off centuries of self hatred.furthermore,black men have,for the most part preferred women who looked like their moms;full-figured,with plenty of curves.Black men and Hispanic men have a tendency to like women who do not look like emaciated runway models and are very vocal about that fact.So,what is the real problem?It seems to me that women who fall victim to body images issue have ego problems. They wish to look like females who are in the limelight because of the power and admiration looks provides these females.First,men were blamed and hated because it was supposedly their fault.Without an apology for being wrong and slandering half of the population,we now blame them for this problem.Each of us was born looking the way we do,possessing whatever gifts we have,period.Deal with it. We have bigger problems.Meanwhile white women are trying their hardest to get n butts.Wow.
