One of the things we should realize and I am sure most of us do already realize it - nevertheless it needs to be said:

RACISM IS A CONSCIOUS DECISION - PEOPLE ON THIS GOOD EARTH CHOOSE TO HATE!

We as black people are disadvantaged by this chosen desire of hatred because many of the people who hate us occupy positions of wealth and authority in this country. We must be positive. We must believe we can overcome this imbalance. We must not be naive either, thinking we will overcome the imbalance of wealth and power without a well thought out plan of action. Robert F. Kenney made the lines from a George Bernard Shaw play titled, Back to Methuselah (1921) famous when he said, "Some men see things as they are and say why, I dream of things that never were and say why not." Blacks will empower themselves economically - it is a logical consequent or conclusion of hatred.

Since there are so many educated and wealthy black people in Atlanta, why can't they form a unified group to purchase the team? How is it that a white man (or a group of white men) can become owner(s) of a predominately black team in a predominately black city? I'm not from Atlanta nor have I ever spent time there, but it seems to me the educated and wealthy blacks need to gain some unity and business sense. Those are the two main things required to obtain success.

As far as this dude, Bruce, he won't be the last white person to make those type of statements. The reason he probably said that was because he (and others) have noticed (over the years) how unpredictable blacks are in public. It's no secret in Atlanta thats for sure. You can best believe the criminal element is among those attending basketball games.

Wow

Another example of how these people really feel about us. There are probably more emails, voice mails, and other messages out there waiting to be exposed. This is why it’s so important to have our own businesses and support them. We can’t continue to rely on people outside our community to support us and give us what we need, especially when their community is suffering. But have no fear, the solution is here.

Black Unity means financial independence and happiness

Atlanta is a top 10 market for NBA television ratings and a basketball hotbed. The NBA won't let any owner move the team, and citing the Thrashers move (due to this same ownership group sabotaging the team and blaming the fans so they and the NHL could profit from the relocation fee) and the Flames move (due to a real estate developer trying to cover unrelated losses...IN 1980!) as evidence that the Hawks could move is ridiculous and lazy.
