It was once said that “Cream always rises to the top.” As of late it appears that only SCUM has been rising to the top. Seldom do I pause to pay homage, but I was compelled & impelled to express my gratitude for the staunch commitment Ruby Dee & Ossie Davis displayed throughout the years. Very few people are deserving of praise for things that should be done, but going above and beyond the call of duty is what separates them from the rest. I would like to thank them for being the linchpins that our lineage so well needed, thank you for being champions for the Black cinematic legacy, and most of all thank you for not only undergirding the foundation during our formative years, but for being a staple in the film industry today.

Parents need to teach their children about the lost virtues of classiness, elegance, refinement, and dignity. Ruby Dee had it all and more. She was a true Queen, through and through, a role model that all would do well to emulate. (Ossie Davis, too – a great man.)
