I understand what you're saying, but it's behavior/actions of common criminals in high positions who are hindering the progress of Americans. They are just as bad as the common street criminal. Read on:

Leon Jenkins, the LA branch president of the NAACP, who became a judge in a district court of Detroit in 1983, was removed from the bench in 1991 and then disbarred in Michigan in 1994 for accepting bribes to dismiss traffic citations, misstating his address to lower his insurance premiums, soliciting a person to commit perjury and other ethical violations. The Supreme Court of Michigan, which oversaw Mr. Jenkins work, conducted it's own investigation and concluded that from 1984-1987, Mr. Jenkins "systematically and routinely sold his office and public trust." The high court removed him from the bench and he was sussequently disbarred in the state.

If this Donald Sterling situation never came to light, I believe Leon Jenkins would have continued his way of life. While black people are putting faith and trust in black organizations, the members are doing illegal mess behind our backs.

Every journey begins with a single step. Mock funerals was the fundamental first step of what is to be a long and tedious journey for it it’s not realistic to assume that a 400 year old slave habit can be overcome instantaneously, and make no mistake about it use of the n-word by African Americans are symptoms of an 18th century slave mentality which needs to be and must be arrested. As with any worthwhile mission and challenge, persistency and determination prevails. Supporters of the anti-n-word movement will achieve the desired outcome by remaining committed to the mission and continuing to relentlessly plow forward to the goal. True to form progress has and is being made, for everyday more and more Black African Americans are disavowing use of the pejorative n-word (n**ga/n**ger) RE-CLAIMING their self-respect, pride, dignity and honor in the process.

"...the NAACP would award the Grand Wizard of the KKK..." Such a true statement. I was gonna post the exact same thing but Nita posted it first. Nice to know I'm not the only person who feels this way. It's obvious the NAACP is all about the money. Those mock funerals were a waste of time, especially since when we learned that Jesse still used the word.

A morning talk show host referred to Adam Silver as "Winner Of The Week." He referred to NAACP as "Weasel Of The Week." Such a true statement. Leon Jenkins has now resigned from the LA chapter of the NAACP. That's not a surprise. I'm hoping someone on thyblackman gathers some info and write an article on his resignation.

It appears the NAACP would award the Grand Wizard of the KKK if money is involved. This organization used to really stand for something. We black people were proud to have such great representation. What happened? Stop talking the talk, but not walking the walk. The NAACP had to know Donald Sterling had previous discrimination lawsuits. This is embarrassing for black people and ALL people who believe in equality. Ban the membership of whomever was responsible for the attempt to honor such a blatant racist with not one, but two awards.
