Macklemore 2014 Tour: Getting To Know Him Better.

(ThyBlackMan.com) Macklemore is the stage name of American rapper Ben Haggerty. He was born on June 19, 1983 and came from a musically inclined family. Since he joined the music industry in 2000, he was able to release one mixtape, a total of two albums, three EPs and collaborated with the well-known producer Ryan Lewis.

Before he was known as a top notch rapper, he was formerly known as Professor Macklemore. He is popular across the country as he emerged as the most sought after national hip-hop artist with so many highlights in his career. His collaboration with his production partner Ryan Lewis has made him even popular. A lot of people are into constant look out for his upcoming projects.

Macklemore came from a family of musician, but he has made his own name in the music industry. He is very passionate as a musician. As young as 14 years old he has already started writing his own lyrics. He grows up in Seattle and used to listen to West Coast underground hip-hop. This was his inspiration when he self-produced his mini album “Open Your eyes”, which gave him a kicked-start as a performer. He released his very first album under the name of Professor Macklemore.

His full length album “Language of My World” was released in 2005, which featured Rhymesayer’sBudo production. This was well-received by many people and loves his striking balance of levity and insight. His fresh perspectives have won the heart of many people. In September of 2009 he released another album entitled “The Unplanned Mixtape”.

In continuous pursuits of musicality

In his continuous pursuit to his musicality and artistry, Macklemore made a promise to be more dedicated to his music. At that point of his life, he met Ryan Lewis; a consummate artist in design, production, and photography. His collaboration with Ryan has made him very successful in the music scene. As a matter of fact, in 2009 they released “VS EP” and in 2010 “VS Redux”.

The latter landed number 7 spot on iTunes Hip Hop charts. In the spring of 2011, Ryan and Macklemore have their first national headlining tour. They packed houses and majority of their shows were sold out. They were featured in various showcases and major festivals across the country including Bumbershoot in Seattle, Soundset in MN, and Rock The Bells Tour in 2011.

In July of 2012, their debut album entitled “The Heist” was released. Being a partner duo, their CD has made it on the Billboard Hot 200 and their single “Thrift Shop” was included in number of charts such as Hot 100. Their song “We Are the World 25 for Haiti”, which was released in February 2010 has topped Billboard Digital Songs. It is as well the second independent song that has gained the top spot in the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Up until now his songs and projects are being looked forward to by many of his followers across the country. Everybody is in constant look out for what’s next with this award winning rapper.
