While Beyonce may be singing grown folks music, many teenage girls have access to her lyrics and live performances. If they consider Beyonce a role model, they’ll most likely imitate her in some kinda way. Parents don’t always know what their daughters do or say when they’re around friends.

Excellent article, and I agree 100%.

One small, petty detail, though. Unless your daughter is a pyromaniac, I doubt she will “immolate” Beyonce. If she copies Beyonce, the she will emulate, or possibly imitate. On the other hand, if you really were going for “immolate”, I’ll be happy to send you a book of matches!

Hmmm. No matter what Obama says or does, he will not make everyone happy. He said “…I made bad choices. I got high without always thinking about the harm that it could do. I didn’t always take school as seriously as I should have. I made excuses. Sometimes I sold myself short.” That’s four separate statements. He was not saying that all of his bad decisions came from being “high”. He assumed responsibility for his actions while he was high AND NOT high, which is what too many kids (and adults) don’t do today. Mrs. Obama was asked the Beyonce question 2 YEARS AGO! Beyonce today is much different than Beyonce of 2 years ago. BUT, she is still married, a great ENTERTAINER, and a humanitarian who donates a ton of money and her time to uplift children. And WHY they keep harping on her lyrics is beyond me. I’m not even a fan but I know that she is singing to grown folks. She is NOT peddling her wares on the Disney channel. This website devotes a lot more time to tearing down Black folks and complaining about everything than they do to listing solutions and plans of action. Dude is selling a lot of himself though. “Dr. Boyce Watkins: The Scholar for Black America”. Says who? Talk about ego.

The GOP pays good money to Blacks for help their campaign to discredit everything President Barack Obama does. This article sounds like one that would make the GOP proud. The article in my opinion, is both transparent and cowardly. Comments like that are apart of what’s wrong with the country. You don’t really believe or understand yourself. On the bright side, you will grow up one day, and cease to be a jerk in time. Or maybe not.

Great article. Obama and Michele should read this, maybe it’ll give them something to think about. Beyonce’s lyrics are ratchett. Why would the First Lady want her own daughters and other young black girls to view Beyonce as a role model?

This My Brother’s Keeper initiative sounds fishy.
