"...and charging a fair price for their goods and services. Notice I said "fair" not "cheap."

Black businesses charge the most expensive, unfair prices for their products and services. It's obvious the owners are all about the money and how much money they can make. Everyday essentials are even expensive.

I was browsing a black-owned website and they are charging 6.59 for 2 oz. of seasonings (pepper, garlic powder, etc). Really?! I'd much rather buy my seasonings at a Korean-owned store for under 2 bucks for the same size.

The key to any successful business is "Managed" growth. In banking the CAMEL model is practiced which stands for Capital, Assets, Management, Earnings, Liquidity. It is of my opinion that no business can sustain growth without "proper" management regardless of the other components of CAMEL being in abundance.

Good article, but black people needed to build businesses like 20-30 years ago. It's been said by blacks that "we" need to provide for ourselves instead of spending money in other communities. So the question becomes, how(and when)? I believe the civil rights movemet is partially to blame for our inaction to take any real action toward opening black businesses.
