It’s sad to say, but today’s athletes, entertainers, and so called community leaders are more focused on themselves rather than their community. This is not in every case, but probably in the majority of cases. They’re still working on the plantation, just well paid or maybe not compared to what the owners make off them. Even the ones who want to say something are afraid to because of what might happen.

There are examples of athletes and others speaking out and paid the price in a shortened career or even life. But if it had not been for these great human beings, we wouldn’t have made it this far. So what’s the solution? It’s time we get off the plantation and become owners. If we only knew our value and what we could do if we came together, we’d be unstoppable. But don’t fret because 2014 will be the beginning of positive change in our community. Look for the news.
