How Wiz Khalifa Came Up To Be Who He Is.

(ThyBlackMan.com) Cameron Jibril Thomaz popularly known by his stage name Wiz Khalifa was born on 8th September of 1987 in North Dakota. He grew up in a military family, and he moved a lot during this time due to the military service. He has lived in German, England and Japan. He finally settled in Pittsburgh, where he completed his high school education. Unfortunately, his parents divorced when he was only three years old. When he was first trying his hand in music, he adapted the name Wisdom Khalifa. The latter name is an Arabic word, which means successor.

Starting his career

As soon as he was out of high school, Wiz Khalifa decided it was time he tried his luck in hip-hop music as a rapper. He had nothing else going at the time so it was do or die. The rapper signed to Warner Bros and released his first mix tape Prince of the city: Welcome to Pistolvania, in 2005 followed by a second in 2007. The mix tapes had a generally positive reception from local audiences, and continued to grow in popularity even outside Pittsburgh. As more and more people begun listening to his music, he decided it was time to drop a commercial album.

He released a proper album shortly after the second mix tape. The album, Show and Prove put Wiz Khalifa into a whole new level of popularity with the lead single “Say Yeah” topping several charts countrywide. As his accolades started to pile up, he received significant endorsements from big names such as Rolling Stone, XXL and VIBE. Wiz Khalifa later parted ways with Warner Bros and signed a deal with Atlantic Records. He released another mix tape collaborating with rappers from his area, and then finally released his second album Deal or No Deal.

The album marked an entirely new level of success for the artist. It peaked at number 25 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Soon afterwards, the rapper released another two albums, Rolling Papers and ONIFC, both of which have enjoyed commercial success. He announced that he is working on a new album that he will release soon.
