the fcc is a goverment agency created to police broadcast and telecom owners, today’s fcc has been controlled and headed by the people the fcc were intrusted to police, since the days of reagan deregulation, so ur point on the fcc, holds no merit in today’s world, and it’s certainly not about the “we the people” it’s about the “companies with money aka “Power” who gatekeep the policy. In other words and very simple the fcc is run and controlled by corporate broadcast and telecom owners plain and simple. And today’s so called “Broastcast” is the narrowcast because it casts to a narrow scope ie niche group.

Dr Watkins I want to make a few points about your article:
1)In case you haven’t noticed, the Grammys are run by white people.
Dr. Watkins the Grammys is a media/video event we both agree. However, whites do not control the FCC, It is controled by US citizens, the goverment (me and you)
2)Because you don’t finance the Grammys: The African Americans starting with the Fisk Jubilee singers, Jazz, Blues, and African Amer. Country musicians were never paid royalties in most cases. Often their creations were stolen. BMI and ASCAP wealth was establish by Afican Americans.
3)Because you are looking for your oppressors to validate you: Wrong, because the Grammys use the “public” air ways we must demand that they tell the – truth. Like my President Mr Obama, in a fight he teaches us that the champ always throws “more” punches than the challenger. I’m not taking an “L”.
4)Because black people don’t control media: Song, dance, and food,sitting with your children on the porch, this is the Afican way. The African processional begins with music, next comes truth, and then knowledge. Media is a new term with little or no meaning to Africans and most native people. On that point Dr Watkins your article comes cloest to the “truth”.

Well, black artists must love looking stupid because for as long as I can remember some of the biggest black entertainers regard their Grammy as the most important award they can win. To them, it signifies crossover. Their music crossing over to a white audience means mo’ money, mo’ money, mo’ money. It means acceptance. Isn’t that what the majority of black folks marched for during the civil rights movement? There could be so many black award shows if black people (fill in the blank).
