It disturbs me that men and women continue to based relationships on the grounds of sexual attraction. I consider myself to be well rounded and open minded. I have experienced the love of a women from many angles. I have taken the cookie and eaten it but remained friends. I also have considered eating the cookie but decided it was not the best decision and still remained friends. I am a strong black man and I too was closed minded until I became a real man. My best women friend is causation female who I met shortly after a bad divorce. I have no desire to bed her and I will always be her friend. The reason why most struggle with platonic relationships is immaturity and a lack of trust.

My pastor is a man. He s married. There are several other men I know who I can talk to and I’m sure they are not after my goodies. I used to think exactly like this, but now I disagree, because I’ve been exposed to more men who have a purpose that is greated than getting “cookie”.

There aren’t many platonic relationships. Friends with benefits is what’s been going on for years. The majority of children born out of wedlock were produced by friends with benefits. Adults are so crazy about sex, having sex that being platonic doesn’t even cross their minds.

It would depend on how mature the mind, spirit, and vision of the men and women in question are. I have enjoyed a number of Platonic friendships with men who were of like purpose with me; we have gotten a number of things accomplished for community, and we do not ever plan to head toward each other’s beds. There is SO much more to be done with the energies of men and women working together than just sex…
