I think the First T-shirt represents the death to the confederate flag like racism is dead , and i think the second T-shirt represents that indians got killed by the colonists for manifest destiny because it was “gods will”

This is not art, grief, excess, power, money have created a potent delusional world for this man, fuelled now by a narcissist wife. Will all end in tears, reality bites and he will come crashing down. What he does then will be the measure of the man.

I can easily believe that his mother’s tragic death had a devastating effect on him. However, he’s 36 years old, so he’s been living long enough to know better than to do the things he’s been doing. I’m also quite sure that he makes millions, but he has lost his soul somehow in the process. That business about the confederate flags wins first prize when it comes to outlandishly stupid behavior. The thing is, he is now a father and he has an enormous responsibility to acquaint his daughter with the history of this country, warts and all, which includes honest discussions about the racism slavery both stemmed from and perpetuated. While money can shield people from the most egregious examples of racism, it does not guarantee complete insulation from it. He also seems to be trying to court attention by saying utterly stupid remarks, like the one to the effect that his wife is more “famous” than Michelle Obama.

No, I wasn’t saying it’s a mockery for anyone to play Jesus; the mockery, in my obvious opinion, is HOW Kanye is openly disrespecting a divine figure to Christians. By saying, “White Jesus, is that you? Oh sh–!” is blatant disrespect when Kanye knows a part of Christianity is purity and refraining from profanity. I was saying he’s mocking what Christians believe and respect as pure and sacred by addressing “Jesus” in such a disrespectful manner. It has nothing to do with the actor’s skintone.

For the record,I nor my grandparents have ever envisioned a blonde, blue-eyed white man when it comes to Jesus; so again, his ethnicity has nothing to do with my opinion of how Kanye is mocking Christianity.

So what you are saying, @Perfecto, is that the only way to lessen the sting of obvious black oppression is by using the words and images, once used against us, as a form of empowerment? Do we as black folk not have a better way of expressing ourselves and fighting against injustice? The black race has gotten lazy and no longer uses their own words and thoughts to stand up, instead we socially plagiarize past prejudice and act as if its working in our favor. We are taking that Christmas gift that we hated, re-wrapping it and slapping a fancy bow on it to disguise its original purpose, while we sit back and grin because we are “sticking it to the man”. We have to dig deeper than that if we want to see change.

As for the religious side of things, people no longer fear God, or anything at that matter and Kanye has no problem putting his soul on the line to make that “all mighty dollar”. In my opinion, Kanye is using the mockery and self referral as a god to sell his music. Just because he’s not talking about cocaine and murder in every line does not make his music positive. I see our music has become so terrible that Kanye is considered conscious. Now that’s crazy!

You can disguise his music all you want as an art-form of Hip Hop, but more people buy his music to see what crazy thing he will say next not because its more positive than the rest. Money is his motivation and his listeners are the fuel for him to go as crazy as he will allow himself to.

So let me get this straight….

You, Ms Shala Marks have an issue with Kanye’s Mockery of religion right?

Without highlighting the overall message of Kanyes music, your emotional attachment to your religion places a veil over your eyes to what kanye represents. If you listen, kanye consistently speaks on black empowerment, and upliftment. He addresses issues of politics and injustice, yet you are worried about his satirical art form?

The use of the confederate flag is a message to those that use it as a symbol for white power. Telling them that we don’t care about your racist ideals. The religious symbolism is implied because its a stimulation of awareness, to show people that they are contained by things they do not understand. And that all people are creators, and are in control of their own lives.

Now in comparison to other artists in the spotlight, his choice of content is very positive and revolutionary. It is not negative, heavily doused in cocaine rap, and murder. Not demeaning to women, only personal and introspective in his personal view of women.

It is crazy that i consistently find people ridiculing the positive, and embracing the negative.
