There are alot of cases where the students are paid under the table during their time on campus. The problem starts with the committment of the athlete when he/she enters the campus on day 1. I would like to know the percentage of minority graduation rates for the athletes from the highest to the lowest. So many of our stars jump for the pros without finishing the mission and do not even attempt to go back. I have seen several stories entelling the outcomes of such individuals, such as murders, drugs, or the ultimate, DEATH. We have started behind the eight ball in so many areas that when we do get ahead, the rules change. College should be an honor to attend, keeping in mind what our ancestors went through to provide education for us today. However with today's outlook of being behind due to student loans or the lack of being hired for your degree field, things are looking rather hopeless. We have so much talent, but so few opportunities. The loss of respect and common sense have also contributed to this situation as well. Even so, there appears to be light at the end of the tunnel. I just hope it is not a gorilla holding a flashlight. Peace out, Papacool.

Great article and 100% on point, but lets not minimize the role black athletes play in their own demise. The vast majority of these athletes are woefully unprepared academically, and many are functionally illiterate. And the few lucky ones who go pro after a couple years of being exploited on NCAA level are still just has ignorant and illiterate while making millions in the NBA/NFL. This is why 99% of them are broke before age thirty with multiple children by scandalous women. This problem will only continue as long as blacks believe getting an education and studying hard is for white people. I truly believe if these athletes started to take their education more seriously they would start to see the big picture and could turn this modern plantation system around to the point it would benefit them, and the rest of the black community.

I wrote about this in my book, Black Unity: The Total Solution to Financial Independence and Happiness. We should also steer our talented youth to Black schools so they can receive a good education and get some of those billions that are going to schools, at one time wouldn’t allow Black students to attend their schools. This only changed because of the money and opportunity to win more games. So this article is right on. If they won’t pay the athletes, then we should be steering them to Black colleges. They’ll still get noticed and the opportunity to play in the pros. For more information about this, click on my name.
