As Blacks, we have been sequestered all of our lives. The problem with this issue is the fact that the special folks, aka whites, always seem to have a problem with anything that openly affects their ways of life. Being poor is nothing new to the majority of Blacks, but when someone white goes through the cycle of riches to rags, they seem to go bonkers. I thank God for having parents that taught us how to make five dollars out of fifteen cents, which led to us having a profound appreciation for anything we got. I still catch grief from some of our own people about trying to find a use for anything that gets discarded. While being compared to Fred Sanford, I take pride in the fact that I try not to waste anything and have often times been called a hoarder. But the true fact of the matter is that I do not care about the comments made, as I base my actions mainly on what I have actually seen others do. To go out to eat and order the most expensive items on the menu and only take two or three bites of the entree before calling it a night is one of the most craziest things I have seen. Which made me develop a new stance that stated as long as you pay for what you get, you can do with it what you will. But if I am paying, the plate should come up empty to the point of the old commerical where the eater could see themselves. The savings that I amassed in only 30 days afforded me three extra full gas fill-ups and a half of bag of groceries. The response that I have seen when one is asked aimply, where does your money go?, has been one that often gets combative. No one can spend more than they take in without suffering a shortfall. It will catch up to you sooner than later. The misery that goes with being broke does not paint a pretty picture. Just remember that in the end the rule of life remains the same. You brought nothing into the world and you will not take amything away. Free your mind and the rest will follow. Peace out, Papacool.

Excellent assessment of the "root" cause of the current budget issue. So many like to talk about the problem at "30 thousand feet", but few would dare get close enough to the ground to analyze the weeds.

Here we are, and where we are going I think is evident to any sensible and informed person. Too bad the sensible and informed are the most rare among us (humanity as a whole).
