I used to own a Home Health Care Agency and realize that rules and regulations may be different in each state. However, if the recipient is a beneficiary of home health care services such as Personal Care, Advance Personal Care, Homemaker Chore, Respite and/or Nursing Services through the Department of Health and Senior Services Division of Senior and Disability Services then only the recipient’s income may be considered when determining eligibility based on income regardless of the recipient’s marital status, living arrangements or their spouse’s income.

I’ve since turned the business over to a tax client who told me the same story that your wife share with you. This issue is worth researching in your state which is what I did for my tax client and we were able to assist Missouri recipients with approval using ONLY their income for Home Health Care even though they resided with their spouse since Missouri Law does not use the non-recipient spouse’s income to determine eligiblity for the recipient spouse.

….Yes. Good article. Republicans have been saying right along race is not a factor. Never know it listening to msnbc as we are called the party of gun crazed angry old white men. I don’t know about approaching things with race in mind except in broad terms. My wife works in the hood part of the time. Nurse. The lady she takes care of is disabled. To fit the rules she and her husband have to pretend separation. The lady calls my wife and me niggers in conversation with her friends. That may seem very strange (we’re white) except for the fact she grew up in in the south. We’re yankees. Thomas Sowell explains it pretty well in Black Rednecks.

Very interesting. While I’m not a Republican the fact that their platform does not use RACE to label an entire ethnic group as underprivileged, special needs and/or at risk is one of the things that attracts me to the Party. For far too long Democrats have reminded us that we are incapable of doing for ourselves because of RACE which kills a man’s spirit and reduces him to living life as a second class citizen in this great country that has too many untapped resources available to anyone for the taking.

In my opinion, the Reuplican’s message of hard wiork transcends race but as Booker T Wasington stated there are people who make a living out of not seeing the patient get well which can never be accomplished by embedding in a child from day one that they are limited in their abilities because of RACE!
