This is an article that I wish every Black person in America could read. It is important when you are suffering to be capable and able to name the object of that suffering and note how it applies itself to your condition. Only through understanding as it regards, the “Sheep Dog” principles that you so clearly illustrated can we begin to imagine the enormity of the affect that the psychology of being captured and brought to America has wrought on African American peoples.

I would like to add this to what you have expressed and exposed in this article. As a filmmaker I am keenly aware that movies are playing a very large role in preserving and reinforcing this Euro-centric system of thought that is being forced on all people and cultures throughout the world but is clearly concentrated on African American peoples. Many of the films being made in Hollywood represent an effort to subliminally reinforce all of the dogma associated with White supremacist thinking. It does all of things that your article notes and more. Hiding the truth like a jealous child who is hell bent on having the story told its on way despite the true reality of actuality. If we want to break the strangle hold of misrepresentation on the African American peoples we must deal soundly with this racist Hollywood environment and the antebellum southern type of network they call Hollywood. The only way to truly do that is to create a film industry of our own which marches to a different drummer and covets truth highest amongst all things.

Thanks again for this enlightening, penetrating, thought provoking article about the importance of Black History. It is a well thought out article. I will save it and share it with others as it should be read by many people of diverse and understanding cultures.
