How can we hold the President accountable when we’re not holding ourselves accountable? Are we doing all that we can as a community to help our people? Our unemployment rate is double that in the white community, yet we continue to spend hundreds of billions of our hard earned money helping their children go to college, keeping their businesses in the Black, hiring their people, while our people suffer because we refuse to take another approach that would reverse the problem of unemployment and allow us to deal with the other problems in our community.

Before we start complaining about what the President and government isn’t doing, we need to take hard a look in the mirror and ask ourselves what are we doing to solve unemployment and all the other problems in our community. There’s something wrong when you care more about other people then you do your own. Click on my name for the solution to the problems in our community.

It appears to me, that once again, based upon this article, Blacks are expecting someone to do something for them. Raynard does not mention fathers being present in the home to keep their kids from joining gangs. The President can't do that. He also does not mention not fathering children outside of marriage. Nor does Mr. Jackson discuss staying in school and getting a good education, again, that's personal responsibility. If the President provides jobs for the country, or creates them, it impacts everyone. If any President, at anytime, showed one-sided attention to one race, we would be screaming. I would also like to know the last time Blacks marched on the White House for jobs? There is an unrealistic expectation for this President. Might I remind Mr. Jackson about Boehner, McConnell, the Tea Party and others who have blocked or attempted to impeded EVERYTHING this President has tried to do. I'm just wondering, have you seen the last 4 years? And, how about personal accountability for the Black race as a whole.

Wow Raynard, that is a great point I had never thought of...kudos! "So, in a kind of weird way, Obama has made it much easier for future White presidents to ignore Blacks, regardless of party. For example, we know the next president will be White, so what happens when he doesn’t do something Blacks think he should and his response is,”You didn’t ask Obama for this, so why should I do it for you?” This is strictly a hypothetical question, but I can guarantee that future presidents and their staffs will at least think these thoughts. How does the Black community deal with this question?" - Raynard Jackson
