I totally agree. We’ve been corrupted by a totally corrupt system that leads us to believe that character and personal growth can be purchased. It can’t. The only why that we can become the kind of person that these so-called stars try to pretend to be is by investing in your character.

These people have it backwards. They think that self-esteem comes from getting other people to look up to them. But that’s a fallacy, because no matter how much you get others to look up to you, if you’re not about nothing, you’re going to know that inside. So high self-esteem is about making a big enough investment in your own character where you like yourself.

This is only a mini-micro view into a segment of our culture. The idea of having a child for the benefits is as old as the world itself. Think of it in this way, a man that represents success stands out simply because of how he carries himself as compared to the world around him. When noticed by the opposite sex, aka females, there is an unsaid attraction that takes place. Please refer to the Eddie Griffith “Education” track, where he states that the perp in all cases like this is the girls’ mama. Get you a man with a good job girl, get you a man that will take care of you girl. I have had the opportunity to see this method in action on a level that can not be imagined. It seems that there is a vicious cycle of get-overism by any means necessary, especially if you have a body to sacrifice, and the world is yours simply for the asking. This is not just an athlete thing, but is systematic within our culture. In this world where electronics has taken over, why are we surprised to see what we see? People have lost the ability to use common sense and have willingly accepted the hype of thinking that they can not count unless they have clout. For the most part, the athletes eventually spend all they make in an irresponsible manner, aka Vince Young, Allen Iverson, Sean Kemp, and Kenny Anderson to name a few without even being humbled enough to know how to recognize God’s blessing of them with talent. Instead of staying focused on the Prize, they get side-tracked into thinking that they are larger than life itself only to end being headline joke material instead of stepping up to the plate and being a role model and example to them that idolize them. I see why Charles Barkley made the role model statement he made and to a certain extent he was right. People have to take responsibility for their own actions and choices. Although there is no such thing as a perfect world, we are charged to do our best each and time we get the opportunity to do so. As far as the women go, self-esteem is a individual thing. If one is never taught about the value of themselves as a living entity, how can one be expected to be all they can be? We all have something to offer and can meet, greet, and teach those that we see in a meaningful way. I also blame the TV media as well as they put the images of us on the tube in a negative fashion with shows like Basketball Wives and the rap videos on the air to let us see how to live on a Balla level. The day I fall for the hype is the day I truly would like to be on my own deathbed leaving all of this bullshit behind. In closing, just remember we all will be accountable for our actions whether we like it or not. The greatest disservice will be our failure to not be truthful in all things. Peace out, Papacool.

The worst part of this situation is the tragedy that lies beneath the surface – our brother and sister’s ignorance to the fact that money, and “things,” can’t make you happy for more than a day or so, and it’s not what makes life worthwhile. So their mindset guarantees them a fruitless life.

If we look back over the happiest moments in our lives, most of will find that those moments didn’t have anything to do with money. Most of us want money so we can impress others, and the reason that we want to impress others is because we think that if we can get others to look up to us we’ll feel better about ourselves.

Clear evidence of that is, if you woke up tomorrow and you were the only person on Earth, how interested do you think you would be in a new sports car, or a big house overlooking the ocean? you wouldn’t be interested in that at all. When you needed to get from point A to point B, you drive the first thing that started; and instead of wanting to live in a big house near the beach, you’d want to live right next to the closest grocery store.

So since we’ve established that we only want money to impress other so we can feel good about ourselves, why not just cut out the middle man and invest in our own growth so we can feel good about ourselves without feeling that we need to impress others?

absorbing that knowledge is the key to a happy, independent, life – and it will save you a lot of hustlin’, ass kissin’, and trouble. It will also make you a more confident and impressive person.

How can one comment to ish like this? Ah well, that is the norm for many of these women nowadays, that;s why i just stay clear from these females. They are nothing but trouble, not only to a man, but to mans soul. As for the athletes going broke, well that is their own fault, no one else because many of them are just as immature as the women they lay up with and get used by for all their child support money.
