Dez,

I would like to know what you are proposing exactly as a plan? For me, it is obvious that spending our money in our community and building businesses are key solutions. Working for others is a nightmare. We always have been exploited and probably always will be.

starting businesses is good, but starting to be an educated consumer is key here, and many black folk feel like we made it because we now spend 1 trillion dollars a year in consumer goods, but that money is spent with companies that only value ur dollar and could care less about you, the conversation that needs to take place in the black community is what is black america's future into the 21st century and where does it fit in, because as quiet as it likes to be kept and ignored, black america is undergoing 21st century marginalization in today's america. Until that is addressed it won't matter how many businesses you start, economic power is only 1 part to the whole of a power pie, we keep looking for ways to avoid rhat whole pie we emulate others whole have the whole pie.

Great article, but are we just figuring this out? In the 1920s we had the UNIA to show us the way, in the 50s it was Reverend Vernon Johns to show us the way. In the 60s it was the Nation of Islam, yet with all these great examples, we still don't get it, which is why we're in this situation. The government is not the solution to our problems, we are the solution and until we finally realize this, we will continue to struggle as a people.
Sad to say, this is a perfect example of the slave mind in action. When you spend a trillion dollars a year creating jobs, sending children to college, becoming wealthy and passing it down to every community but your own, something is wrong with you.

What group is spending a trillion dollars in our community. Not even the government is doing this, yet we continue to do the same thing, but wonder why we have all these problems in our community. If our so called leaders aren't talking about us doing for ourselves, they don't really represent us.
