Shock registered through my soul when I read that ‘Don’t Sleep’ was reduced to Weds ONLY for one hour. WOW!! How nice is that? to finally have a show that have discussed based on politics and other current events from OUR prespective and then have it deleted like an incorrect word.

This is the reality of BET. They are never going to see or act outside the box. For years now BET’s biggest entertainment features are music videos and as time goes on they get worse and worse in addition to more nudity, foul language, and basically no sense. At least back in the day there was an even mix of soul/R&B/Hip Hop but now it’s just hip hop on the NC-17/X level.

I blame viacom and Debra Lee. Debra Lee for not taking a firmer stand and fighting to keep this show on (because eventually DS will be cancelled, it’s just starting); Viacom Execs whom I can just about guess are Republicans who are against Obama so I’m pretty sure having someone like TJ and his guest telling like it is is just not something they want to promote.

This is so sad to hear. I don’t even watch TV and this is the one show that I felt did BET justice? They have no problems showing videos every day and all other kind of crap. I hope that TV1 would see the shows worth and pick it up.

Dr. Watkins, I was just beginning to watch this show and saw the potential to help open “our” consciousness. Since you are one of “our” Movers and Shakers, may I suggest you connect with ColorofChange or another organization like that and start a petition to protect this show.

This is a sad read… what it brings to mind for me that is is going to take exactly as long to get ourselves out of the mess we are in — in terms of what we allow ourselves to see and be programmed by — as we have getting into the mess… decades. But it will start only when some of us just turn the set off, turn off the cable, limit the Internet time to the essentials, learn how to think for ourselves again, and then teach everyone else that we can who will listen.
