President Obama isn’t the reason Black unemployment is so high. Black people are the reason unemployment is so high. We spend a trillion dollars or more helping to keep every community but our own, wealthy and happy. You can’t blame anyone but the person you see in the mirror everyday. Until we start creating businesses and many other resources we need for our community, we will always get the leftover scraps from people outside our community and we have no one to blame but ourselves. The slave mind still exist and this is another example of it.

Interesting read…I completely agree with what you’ve written and I had to laugh (internally of course) at your interpretation of that commercial, because I thought the same thing when I saw it initially. We are always portrayed as happy, dancing fools when ‘good’ things happen to us…and I completely understand as an actor/actress needing to pay bills, get face time, etc. But at some point someone, no scratch that, all of these artists who represent us in Hollywood need to say, ‘I’m not going to do it!!’

If it requires anything remotely resembling ‘cooning’ then I’ll pass on this check…we have to start deciding what’s more important…a few dollars or the overall perception that we give other ethnic organizations when they look upon us. And if the dollar is more important, then we need to delve even deeper and discover what governs our minds and souls.
