bee bee1, I agree with you about Marc Lamont Hill. However, I know I’m going to ruffle a lot of feathers when I say this but there’s no way TUPAC should be on this list. Thomas Aquinas and Sacrates got nothing on PAC! However, I might give Jesse a pass just because he spoke the truth about Barack which took a lot of balls, no punt intended!

I, for one, think Marc Lamont Hill is overrated. A list for the 15 most overrated black folks from a 33 year old who hasn’t done half of the work some of these folks have. That’s a laugh!!!!

Regardless of your feelings about Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Barack Obama, etc., they’re people who stood up and did something, as opposed to sitting back and criticizing others.

Once he gets some more accomplishments under his belt, he can label people “overrated” all he likes. Until then, I think he needs to keep his nose to the ground, stay in his own lane, and plow ahead.

Also, the typos also lessened the credibility of this article.

I think a lot of the problem with the people and organizations mentioned, is they focused too much on the wrong things. My point is if we had put as much effort on economic issues within our community, rather then always focused on the social and economic issues outside our community to solve our problems, would we be better off?

The real test to show if we’re on the right tract is the question, are we better off following a plan that always consist of getting people outside our community to do the right thing, or would we have been better off following a Garvey plan in doing for and relying on our own community to solve our problems? We have to utilize the power within our community before we can gain power outside our community.
