Interesting…wanting to do a piece on the talented tenth and after reading this piece, am prompted to ask, isn’t the purpose of the talented tenth to lift knee-grows up from the drudgery of our conditions that Dubbois claim Booker T and Garvey would keep us in? After all the purpose of the creation of the talented tenth is for some of us to be leaders and accepted equals in Amerikkka, so that they can in turn lead us out of our conditions.

While the masses have tied their fortune behind the Afropean intellectuals that infuses the political and corporate commercial machhinery, we have moved farthur away from the ideals of Washington and Garvey. This is way, as John said, they can easily drop their posions in our neighbourhood and watch us die and kill each other like dogs.

This article has properly put into words what I have felt for a while. At some point, we had to be honest and admit that those before have failed the generation that is coming up behind us. Not it’s on us to try to turn things around some way and not on the government or whatever super-magical negro savers people keep hoping will intervene. “We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.” A very true statement.

I can recall growing up in the 70s when all the neighbors kept us in line as kids. Now days if you see a child doing wrong and say something the parent will cuss you out and maybe even want to jump on you. That’s part of the problem.

I am convinced that they make sure that it remains dangerous in the ghettos with guna, drugs, etc. and the Western countried do the same thing in Africa to make sure that the continent is not safe!!!
