And No one is going to talk about it! Stop waiting on Superman brotha - he ain’t coming! Reckless sexual compulsion, hyper-sexuality, social stigma, drug influenced/abuse, peer influences, socio-economical status, religion, culture, etc… are a few variables for what in actual theory is simply solvable, but in practice is a highly complex quandary.

From a sex educator's perspective, unequivocally, the article, and the link within, is a conversation seldom spoken in the realm of sexual health outcomes for a disproportionate at risk group: heterosexual men.

Honestly, most of us guys think we know enough about sex, and believe it’s plain common sense, therefore, need no discussion and certainly no real sex ed.. However, the fact is most of us men( young an old) know very little – thus leaving us vulnerable to greater risk due to stupidity. I think the majority of society is officially MissSexEducated.

30 years of HIV/AIDS and look where we are. Hmmm...! HIV is the most preventable sexual transmitted infection(STI) yet Blacks are leading the global pandemic: 18% of adults in South Africa. Reality is that HIV prevention campaigns, HIV behavioral modification intervention, HIV harm reduction, and other HIV funding for heterosexual Black males is miniscule.

In 2012, not 1984, Tennessee state GOP Senator Stacey Campfield stated:
“My understanding is that it is virtually — not completely, but virtually — impossible to contract AIDS through heterosexual sex. It was one guy screwing a monkey, if I recall correctly, and then having sex with men. .” Simply idiotic, but it is such ignorance that places the senator and the public at greater risk.

Working on grant funded studies of small samples have proven that we must cease listening to the uninformed neighborhood gurus: Pookey and Ray Ray. Unfortunately, if living in the bible belt, Pookey and Ray Ray may be a young mans only option. My tip: never take sex education from anyone who doesn’t conclude by referring you to a few websites (non porn) or a physical facility to seek more information. And if anybody tells you Black straight men cannot get HIV, please walk away quickly.
