At any point, did you listen to your “Let me think self?” While your intent seems noble, your product, this article is incoherent at best. Frankly, it is irresposible. I have a question for you, do you think all racism is explicit? BTW, your title asserts Stilettos are racist, but I could find any information in your piece to support that argument, do you?
I agree with this statement you made,”everyone must make a concerted effort to know what racism is and is not.” You should have followed your own advice. If I were your prof, I would have you do a re-write or grade this with a capital F.The shackles on the Adidas tennis shoe is racist in my opinion on an implicit level when one takes into account a segment of the demographics purchasing (or not) those shoes, the history of that demographic, the explicit illegal and ignoble profiling of young dark skinned people in NY and the current state of so many young Black males in prison etc. In writing this article, did you consider the difference in the purpose of shackles and stilettos. Can you tell me how many Africans died from wearing stilettos compared to shackles while being shipped to their respective life sentencing/destinations?
