I agree with Ams, thi has to be sarcasm. I cannot believe a reputable magazine such as Vibe would sink so low as to view these women as role models.
In a time where bullying is a serious issue among our teens, these shows do nothing but promote bullying especially bassketball wives. Tami, Evelyn & Shawnee are the biggest bullies with Shawnee as the ring leader, she sits up the stage and sits back and watch the drama unfold. I use to think she was a classy lady, I no longer see her that way. This show is a disgrace not only to black women but to women of all races. I dont know any women who behave that way. I agree with cathy, being from the ghetto does not mean you have to behave that way. Our children know better. these women behave worse than animals. I no longer watch this show because it is embarrasing.
What happened to women like Michelle Obama, Ophra Winfrey and so many other women that they could have used on the cover. The bottom line is money, well I will not be buing that issue of Vibe

I have not and will not read the article on the characters of VH1 Basketball Wives, The Real Housewives of Atlanta being role models for our children. I feel as an African American woman that comment is degrading to all African Americans families. What the writer is trying to portray is our children are not capable of respecting each other or conducting themselves in civilization. Mr. Writer what makes you think our children do not know how conduct themselves in public or visit other countries without being an embarrassement to our country. We do not train our children to act like animals,limiting their vocabulary to only four letter words, taking off their shoes, jumping on tables and throwing drinks at each other in public. As a black whomen raised in the ghetto I can tell you that this behavior is not the norm and I have never experienced such behavior even in the “ghetto”. So trust me Mr. Writer these characters you have choosen to be role models are NOT role models for our children. Unfortunately YOUR selections happens to be only a “select few of black women” that will do anything for money and fame but there is absolutely no excause for this kind of behavior on National Television. I challenge you to introduce them to your children to act as mentors. If you dont have children introduce them to your animals because that is where they all fit in.

I haven’t read the content of the magazine and I don’t plan to but when I saw the cover one word came to mind: sarcasm. It is the only thing that makes sense.
