Self appointed? He was the only person to volunteer for the neighborhood watch….and seeing that there were 402 911 calls from residents in the community in just the past year (there’s less than 250 homes in the community and quite a few were vacant) they needed neighborhood watch.

WHAT?? I’d really like to see your proof that George continued “pursuing” Trayvon after the operator told him not to because NO ONE has been able to prove he continued following him!!
When did George admit he confronted Trayvon? You should let the prosecutor know about that since they admitted they can NOT prove George confronted Trayvon!!

If you are going to take the time to write something like this please take the time to make sure your “facts” are right so you don’t end up spreading more missinformation….It’s getting really annoying discussing this case with people that get their “facts” from pages like this one and believe everything they read!

Each year, roughly 7,000 blacks are murdered. Ninety-four percent of the time, the murderer is another black person. According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, between 1976 and 2011, there were 279,384 black murder victims. Using the 94 percent figure means that 262,621 were murdered by other blacks. Though blacks are 13 percent of the nation’s population, they account for more than 50 percent of homicide victims. Nationally, black homicide victimization rate is six times that of whites, and in some cities, it’s 22 times that of whites. Coupled with being most of the nation’s homicide victims, blacks are most of the victims of violent personal crimes, such as assault and robbery.

The magnitude of this tragic mayhem can be viewed in another light. According to a Tuskegee Institute study, between the years 1882 and 1968, 3,446 blacks were lynched at the hands of whites. Black fatalities during the Korean War (3,075), Vietnam War (7,243) and all wars since 1980 (8,197) come to 18,515, a number that pales in comparison with black loss of life at home. It’s a tragic commentary to be able to say that young black males have a greater chance of reaching maturity on the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan than on the streets of Philadelphia, Chicago, Detroit, Oakland, Newark and other cities.

A much larger issue is how might we interpret the deafening silence about the day-to-day murder in black communities compared with the national uproar over the killing of Trayvon Martin. Such a response by politicians, civil rights organizations and the mainstream news media could easily be interpreted as “blacks killing other blacks is of little concern, but it’s unacceptable for a white to kill a black person.”

If using harsh words against someone causes them to dish out bodily harm to me, then I will shoot them too.

Trayvon was provoked with words. It doesn’t matter that George didn’t walk away at first. He has every right to stand where he wants in a free country. So did Trayvon. If Trayvon didn’t like what George was saying, he should have walked or ran away.

Trayvon was beating the crap out of George. George shot Trayvon. It was the only thing he could do at that moment. He was passed the point of now return.

So off topic. Do black people like all black people? I don’t like all white people. Doesn’t mean I am racist against whites.

Can everyone just stop being race-baited?

@Really. A murder’s credibility isn’t his looks at it’s his actions.
If anyone has listened to a recorded interview police the fmr co work explained how me berated him and made a racial jokes about him and bullied him. I have no doubt this was a racial incident. When you are Surveying, profile, given to instruct not follow him, yet, followed, pursed, chased and confronted him… Justly gets beat see a gun cries for help; been scientifically proven NOT to be the cries of GZ. No matter what his queer family thinks or says, it’s not GZ,. Why do you enjoy looking at the picture of men anyway? Do you swing your wrist when you walk?

By the looks of the picture attached to your article, my question is what was a 6th grader doing out so late. When you post the picture of the young, innocent looking Trayvon, you lose credibility immediately. Either post pics of both TM and GZ from 8 years ago, or both current.

Also…what is happening right now with regards to all this new info is something we like to call facts. Why is it a big deal if this info comes out if it is all going to come out in trial. Its more for just getting the public ready for a not guilty verdict.

Zimmerman can never be considered a victim of Trayvon Martin in this tragic case. Zimmerman had numerous opportunities to break off the chase and walk away. There would have been no harm and no foul. It was Martin who did not have that option, and he ended up dead for that very reason. It was the Sanford Police Department who sided with the chaser, without considering what the chased person did wrong. We know today, that kid did nothing wrong!!

Underneath all the media reports and cover ups, lies the truth. The truth is, George Zimmerman was the only person who had the power to prevent Trayvon Martin from being shot to death on that night. George Zimmerman made the choice to leave his house with the murder weapon, George Zimmerman choose to disregared the directions of the 911 operator. George Zimmerman was known to one of the SPD officers as a Neighborhood Watch Leader, but George Zimmerman choose to act outside of the rules of the Neighborhood Watch. Whether George Zimmeerman is a racist or Trayvon Martin was not the angel the media reported he was, none of that matters, Trayvon Martin is dead and George Zimmerman is responsible.

“The campaign of innuendo and attack against Martin and defense of George Zimmerman bolstered by alleged new facts about the shooting come weeks after the killing and puts the prosecution and Martin family supporters in the awkward and unfair position of having to fend off every hint or outright accusation of wrongdoing by Trayvon Martin while George Zimmerman’s image of a zealous troublemaker continues to get scrubbed cleaner.”

Umm, maybe because it’s true? It has been clearly identified that when the 911 dispatcher told Zimmerman “we don’t need you to do that”, he responded “OK” and spoke with the dispatcher for another 90 SECONDS! Trayvon was gunned down 100 yards from his fathers home? A 17 year old football player can make that distance in 10-15 seconds! Why was he not in his fathers home yet?

Outright lies…How about that 5 year old picture of Trayvon next to a very recent picture of Zimmerman right inside this article? The video of Martin in the convenience store shows just how big of a person he really was. Now add his size, the fact their was a string of robberies in that community, and the fact that we now know Trayvon had drugs in his system so he COULD have been acting strangely and we get a picture of a neighborhood watchman who was actually doing what he signed up for!! Doesn’t sound like a vigilante to me.

Your article is just as bad as NBC editing the 911 call to make it seem like it was racial profiling. Good job “reporting” guys.
