What a self-absorbed piece. Conservatives offer contempt at worse and apathy at best when it comes to black issuess. They've shown no interest whatsoever in black issues yet dare to court the black vote. What's more, since 2008 Republicans and their conservative acolytes have been caught up in racist scandal after racist scandal. From the Tea Party racist signs to white supremacist allies to the Trayvon Martin smears.

Lloyd Marcus' assertion that every black person who supports social programming hates white people is just insane. If he's serious, that would mean most blacks--educated or not--hate whites because most of us support social programming. That is, unless we support Marcus' radical libertarian views, we are all white-hating racists.

After Lloyd offers up his list of Russ Limbaugh inspired talking points, a hate based mix of half truths and lies, he then tries to make his case for his inclusion as a fellow Black American by saying "I will continue my quest for the ultimate appeal that will persuade my fellow black Americans to stop the insanity of voting Democrat..(Democratic)". Lloyd Marcus is indeed an American, but the black part, I don't think so. Being Black is not having black skin, being Black is a state of mind. Lloyd Marcus, your state of mind, actions and attitudes qualify you as a Negro American, among the likes of Herman Cain, Juan Williams, Joe Oliver and Allen West. May you all have a interesting life.

Ron Paul did say he would end the drug war and de-criminalize “drugs”, basically taking the same stance some countries have done in Europe for example; in Portugal, Spain, they could not afford to continue with their drug war and de-criminalized everything. Oddly, they found addiction and usage decreased and crime also decreased exponentially. Labeled as crazy, nuts, the crazy uncle the family doesn’t like to talk about…. Etc. he does make one think, especially our policies as they pertain to the Middle East, and our blind loyalty to Israel. I believe Ron Paul and those like him could do a lot for the black community in the U.S., I also forgot to mention he also stated he would pardon those serving lengthy sentences that were simply charged with non violent drug crimes. When asked how he would employ the thousands if not possible millions of inmates, “simple, there would be plenty of jobs when I shut down all the foreign military bases, stop foreign aid, and keep the money here, and rebuild our infrastructure”. I kind of like it, regardless of your political stance, he has never changed his views, and has been honest and upfront about his voting, does not partake of secret ballots, and has a 30 yr record of congress that can be followed.
When I look at how blacks have been treated by the Democratic Party I just don’t see where they have been given a lot of consideration. Other than a vote or a group they can count on that is about it. They cater more to the Hispanic vote and align themselves with groups such as La Raza, La Mecha, and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.
Im not going to say you would get more consideration from the republicans, but after 4 decades and you have less young black men finishing high school now than you did in the bad ol days. Communities infested with drugs and crime, blacks barely make up 20% of the U.S. population but represent over half the population of prisons in the U.S., I held my nose changed parties and became a card carrying republican to vote in the primaries, and then I will go back to libertarian. In many cases it may take a lot of courage to buck the system and go against the tide, and subjugation. But perhaps it’s time for real change, and resources, answers to questions, individuals politically involved that have a genuine concern for the black community may in fact not be black, republican, or democrat but Americans wanting a better quality of life for fellow Americans regardless of skin color.

The Democratic Party is the party of slavery, the party that created the KKK, the party of Robert Byrd, the party that filibustered the Civil Rights Act for over a month, the party of the racist Congressional Black Caucus that won't allow white members even if they represent a large black constituency.

The Republican Party is full of liars and thieves. Things is, the Democratic Party is even worse. There is Real Change in the air, from the people who started the original (2007) Tea Party before it got hijacked by big-government neocons, and by the Ron Paul crowd.

If anyone hasn't read Ron Paul's excellent article on big government perpetuating racism, you're missing out. Look up: Ron Paul, What Really Divides Us.

I'll quote part of it: "By encouraging Americans to adopt a group mentality, the advocates of so-called "diversity" actually perpetuate racism. Their intense focus on race is inherently racist, because it views individuals only as members of racial groups.

Liberty means free-market capitalism, which rewards individual achievement and competence, not skin color, gender, or ethnicity. ...Rather than looking to government to correct what is essentially a sin of the heart, we should understand that reducing racism requires a shift from group thinking to an emphasis on individualism."
