Very interesting read. I'm in the restaurant business and was intrigued by the advice given. My restaurant is in the middle of Downtown Chicago and hosts many high level business lunches and dinners. For the most part, folks today are looking for 'reality'. I've had dinner events for foreign dignitaries where 'finger food' was the fare of choice. I've also observed extremely successful businees people who couldn't tell the difference between a salad fork and a steak knife (LOL). I think, for the most part, we are trying too hard to 'get it right'. Guess what...the vast majority don't even know what's right. Don't believe me ? The next time you're in a very expensive restaurant look for someone who's just ordered as very expensive steak. Now...watch how they cut that steak. Observe how they hold the knife and fork...get my point? All in all, we need to be ourselves and stop trying so hard. i think, in the long run, this will ensure your success more than refraining from buttering your bread.
