Its naive to expect him to do anything that will specifically help us. Its not in him. But he will gladly give to anyone but us. Our challenge is to organize and use our moral authority to align ourselves and assume a role of leadership in the occupy movement. I think Tavis Smiley and Dr. West are on the right track with their emphasis on social justice and anti-poverty. Similarly, Obama must be forced to rescind his decision to close the Minority Business Development Agency and foster, encourage and emphasize the formation of small businesses in general, and black small businesses in particular.

We have to do it ourselves. We can’t put our faith in this president to do what is right.
