Given that the job of a Policeman is by no means simple, however, with well intended and competent leadership, starting with the Mayor and including Precinct Captains and a similarly intended police union, the Lawson-Franklin story would not have to be told. The problem is not Crooked Seattle Cops, but a Law inforcement Climate that allows policemen to be so comfortable as to think they could perpetrate this dishonesty and not pay the consequences. The Black community fails to mobilize or give any kind of credible push back when its people are being mistreated. There are plenty churches, an NAACP chapter,a Urban League and self proclaimed activest leaders who only want to lead when it’s something in it for them.
