For over fifty years I have made a project of spending my money within my community. Let me tell you, it is not an easy task finding black businesses to spend your money with, unless you are spending on hair products and services, music, dry cleaning, income tax preperation and soul food. Before I buy an item connected to a commission I seek out someone black or at lest live in my community. I recently relocated to a new city and with the help of a local African American Business Directory finding goods and services in my Community is still a core. My good black doctor took an administration position at a hospital, and the only dentist I found was an alcoholic. I won’t stop looking but it ain’t easy.
