While I have the greatest respect for the work of Spike Lee. The truth is Red Hook Summer was not a great film. Maybe it is wrong to feel this way, but I’m getting tired of mediocre work being pushed down our throats. Spike dropped the ball on this one. It’s not the end of the world, just tell him to make a better movie next time. He can do it.

In fact two of the leads resembled the leads in St. Anna. And the latter had much stronger performances.
