Ron Paul had a 3rd place finish in Iowa last night. While he did not win, it is still a significant showing. Perhaps if more Blacks in Iowa would have shown up and register as Republicans, he could have easily won. There are more states to go and we as a people have a chance to drastically influence the debate that will occur between Obama and whoever the GOP nominee will be. Even if you support Obama and give him a pass, I do not see how, but ok, why would you not at least help a candidate that is anti-war, anti-drug war win that nomination? It is a perfect opportunity to play both parties against each other instead of letting Republicans nominated a candidate who will not address these issues. It seems to me that some Black people think it is sacrilege to participate in the GOP nomination process because they are ignorantly placing all their eggs in one parties basket. I would do it just because the GOP would not want us too.

This is kind of what I was thinking. But only if Paul doesn't win the republican nomination. Because then he can take equal votes from both parties to win independently... 16 years of R. Paul

I've been campaigning for this ticket since 2007. When opposites like Paul and Kucinich attract, it shows us that there are REAL problems in our government. When the things they agree about are in place, then we can go back to arguing left vs right. Until then, I'm praying to Tom Cruise and the sun gods for a Paul/Kucinich ticket in 2012.
