The significant difference this year is I’m ok with my feelings, which are I don’t want/need to hear about my daughter’s plans with my ex. I stopped myself from defending myself when I realized I am not alone. There are millions of women who suffered through childbirth, sacrificed a good-paying career and gave up on a social/sexual life only to find the person who was number one can do and say whatever (it’s a free country). I understand kids have their own needs; I just don’t need to know that irresponsible, unaccountable and selfish parents are treated as worthy.
