That’s all that Ron Paul is trying to achieve by reducing the influence of the FED. The Fractional Reserve Banking system is what allows banks to make the kind of money they make and it has nothing to do with the free market. It’s the Fed (a pseudo government organization) that allows this system to exist.

If you do not vote for Ron Paul, then who?

They won’t connect entangling alliances, arbitrarily drawn political boundaries, economic sanctions, financial irresponsibility, and demagoguery with subsequent events in human history — The Cold War, Vietnam, Korea, Israeli-Palestinian conflicts, and, ultimately, the War on Terror. The won’t do it because they know what they know and nothing else matters. It is quite sad, actually, that our fellow Americans are so loyal to false knowledge and embracing fear rather than looking for solutions.

This same mindset appears to apply to those who are hesitant to support Ron Paul’s domestic agenda. Freedom, once fought for with lives, is now something we fear as well. We have been convinced, because we know, that the government needs to engineer society, to redistribute wealth, and to protect us from ourselves. Yet, we see, over and over again, examples of why such programs and initiatives do not work.

Instead of creating a more equal society, such government interventions create dependency, moral hazard, and a divided populace. As the Department of Education spends more and more money, our students continue to descend in the rankings of the educated internationally, as just one example, although there are more. The War on Drugs, for instance, a program with good intentions, surely, has incarcerated generations of people, predominately from minority populations, yet drug use is still rampant and statistics regarding whether usage has dropped are faulty, at best, due to the instruments used to measure usage rates. The attempt at helping all Americans achieve the “American Dream” of owning a home has led to millions who are now homeless and, to add insult to injury, unemployed.

And, it won’t stop as long as we continue to do the same things that caused such problems in the first place. One way that we can fix problems is by taking charge of our own lives, regardless of our station, and being active politically. If not us, then who? Do we believe that the elites really have our best interests at heart? Do we believe that the ballot has as much power as the dollar? It is often said that we can change our government with the ballot, but we cannot change the boards of evil corporations. Certainly we can, by not allowing the government to choose winners and losers, by allowing businesses to fail, and by using the law to prosecute individuals who engage in fraud or other illicit activities, yet the system encourages blind eyes.

Additionally, our votes may change our representatives, senators, and executives in government, but they rarely, if ever, change the nature of the thousands of organizations within the government; the organizations that, constantly, fail to do their jobs because, as any student of sociology will tell you, they fall victim to the very nature of such bureaucracies. This explains why government, although inefficient and unable to balance budgets, continues to grow and expand to the rate that one out of every ten adult Americans works for a government agency at some level at averages between at least $3,600 per month, and, at most, $5,700 per month. What a fair system!

It is time for substantial change and it will not come by endorsing the same policies that prove to yield nothing but unintended consequences. While none of us, even those advocating freedom, can predict the future, can we not agree that we should be able to have dominion over our lives instead of overpaid government employees who were not elected following regulations that were not even approved by the people?

I apologize for the long rant and I know that, certainly, things should be much better for Americans now than they are, regardless of race, but we will see no improvement unless we, as Americans, take our government back and put it in the hands of active, intelligent, and thoughtful citizens. As long as we’re holding onto party affiliation, false knowledge, ignorance of consequences, and actively rejecting peace, friendship, and freedom, I’m not sure there is much hope for our children.
