Great article! This message cannot be emphasized enough. It's true that we've become too complacent with the status quo. To add to it, we've become too reliant on our faith and apathetic to the plights of ourselves and our fellow brothers and sisters. We dare to say the sentiment mimics that during slavery where many slaves justified the actions of their oppressor, refusing to partake in the abolitionist movement. There are these deep rooted rationales of "it could be worse", "God won't give me anything I can't handle", "at least I have..." that's killing us. We're currently dealing with an all-out class war, and as representatives of a group with far less than 5% of land ownership, we'll be the ones to suffer the most. We have nothing to lose.

If watching our men die early and be imprisoned don't move us; if watching our grandmothers, aunts and uncles die prematurely due to inadequate health care and education don't move us; if sending our children to schools with inadequate resources and education don't move us; if watching first generation immigrants surpass us in financial influence won't do it, then what will do it? It's impossible for many of us to even begin partaking in the Occupy Movement because the first place we'll need to start is with occupying ourselves.
