Mr Reed:
There is no question the Obama Adminstration has not been able to corral and bring under control the high unemployment numbers we are seeing among the African American or Black population. It is in times like these we are called upon by those representing the opposition party to abandon the Democratic Party or if not outright abandonment, threaten to do so in an attempt to get the party to respond more directly to our needs. Well sir, I find both those responses foolish. The most effective and expedient way to show our dissatisfaction is to excercise control over an area over which we have complete dominance, an area which we have fought and in some instances died for and that is those districts controlled by the members of the Black Caucus. You see, it is they who have failed us, for they more than anyone else should be representing our best interest and they have miserly failed to do so. We should not abandon Mr. Obama when we know a Republican President may end up working in our collective disinterest.

During the 2008 primary Obama visited the Tom Joyner and Steve Harvey morning shows and was asked specifically about his plan for the black community. Obama's response was that he couldn't do NOTHING until he's President. Neither Tom nor Steve challenged Obama on his response and now that Obama is President his plan is exactly that NOTHING for the black community!
