I was very disappointed at turnout but I also agree with you that the true Dr. King has been totally whitewashed. He has been corporatized and made safe so that today’s youth will not know how revolutionary Dr. King was. There were no youth or student speakers or any anti-war or anti-capitalism spoken. I support your decision not to attend. Continue to do the real grassroots work. Since you have great background and education in economics, please put your vision in establishing commerce on the community level. You talk about the do nothing Ph.D’s, make sure you do not become one of them.
