i don’t expect anything out of tyler perry, i would hope and want more people doing things in the film world to be able to get a shot, but perry is the defacto flavor at the moment, like another 10 years some one else will be. just like 25 years ago spike lee would of been and was subject to conversation like this.

Well written, However, I don’t think that anyone that holds the positions of those two great men can not expect to be critizied. It’s really part of their reallity…With great success comes great responsibility.And both men have a responsibility to their culture to help raise them up to their highest expression. The biggest problem within the Black race is that the men have failed to take a stand on behalf of their family, (not all) but far to many. Meaning..This is a man’s world, that within every other culture the men empower themselves.

I’m very very happy to see both these men in their positions.But as the great Paul Robison stated, that one should take what has been given to them to help change the culture for the better.

President Obama, I think will do more for black people after he’s out of office. And Mr. Perry, really really needs to change his format, it does not serve us well, only paychecks being given.

Your thesis is in correct. It only applied to those who accept without question with what he says. I tried to have a discussion with a man on his healthcare bill. The fellow said he agreed with it. I asked him what he agreed with and started to discuss it in detail then he states he had not read the bill.

Excellent article – finally someone who “gets it.” I am so encourage by both men. We should do just as you stated, support them. I remind our people, we are our on worst enemy. Stop with that “crab in a bucket” mentality. Encourage each other, but instead we try to put one another down.

Well written!! Thank You!!!!! After reading this I will never debate with any one who talks down on them both!!!! These same people who have something to say about Tyler and our President are the same ones who “go home, close their doors and do what the hell they want to do”. People love to sit back and open their mouths and say who shouldnt be doing what and who should be that. Tyler Perry has his audience, and for those who doesnt like it……….OH WELL!!! LIVE WITH IT!

Well written article. When I think of the demands on Mr.Obama and Tyler Perry, I think of the old Richard Pryor joke about black expectations: “It’s a crow, it’s a bat, no, it’s Super N……! Yes, Super N……, abale to see through everything, but Whitey!”
