I am an African. And after a fatal accident, I found myself praising God more than asking. As an African child I was taught never to cry. I find that Nancy was trying to make a point in reminding us about the power of understanding what you are asking of God, I doubt that she was trying to direct anyone astray. She didn't have to quote what Jesus said about how to pray. With what I went through, almost losing my legs, my sanity, and life, I spent time looking back to what could have been worse. Reading Nancy's abstract on prayer then reminded me that it is deed true that focus helps with faith, and that you can not just pray 'a random ' prayer without (ukujula) Zulu word for ( debth).

Supplication does not means to petition.

Supplication, therefore, is the attitude or spirit of prayer. We bend down to God and cry out to Him for an answer. We submit to His will and to His authority. We earnestly seek His help. In this way, we make supplication to God in our prayers. May follow our example, the Lord Jesus, who "offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears" (Hebrews 5:7
).

To learn the correct way to pray, we need to follow the example of what JESUS taught in Luke 11:1-4; Mt6:5-13. Shall I heed the words of Nancy Wood which is the way of man or heed the words of JESUS CHRIST which is the way of GOD. According to the word of GOD , the bible does not specify three different types of prayers. We are to pray to the FATHER in heaven in the name of JESUS and always praying with supplication, intercession and praise and thanksgiving.

I noticed that Nancy Wood did not mention a word on what JESUS has to say about how to pray. We are to follow precisely what JESUS DID and said and not what we as mankind think or feel.We are not to add to or diminish the word of GOD. (De4:2 ; De12:32 ; Pr30:6 ; Re22:19 )
