ja rule fell off because you can only go so far calling ur crew murder inc and linked to real criminals, plus ja rule was known as the 2-pac clone, growing up and awakening from the whack boogie that’s been calling itself commercial hiphop since 92’s the chronic is hard for some to do, but it really does make u see clearer when u do awaken from it.So remember when u pay respect to commercial hiphop music post 1992 ur either too young or had the bad luck of the draw of being born in it’s still wwf incarnation.

Very well-written & informative piece. I already knew how the music game works but alot don’t. Only thing missing was that the author didn’t juts flat out say that most rappers are fake but ironically those are the ones that have the most success but the ones that keep it real have a very hard time establishing themselves. I understand it, but I’ll never get it
